Your support makes all the difference.Last week, the Los Angeles Times published an article featuring more than 30 women making sexual harassment allegations against director James Toback.
Since then, almost 200 additional people have come forward, reportedly sharing similar experiences to those expressed by the original 38 women.
Most allege that Toback approached them, saying something along the lines of: “My name’s James Toback. I’m a movie director. Have you ever seen Black and White or Two Girls and a Guy?”
When that line of questioning didn’t work, Toback would reportedly begin name-dropping, eventually inviting the women to audition at a hotel room. When there, things would allegedly turn sexual.
Oscar-winning actor Julianne Moore has now spoken out against Toback, detailing how the director approached her in the ‘80s.
“James Toback approached me in the 80's on Columbus Ave with the same language — wanted me to audition, come to his apartment,” she wrote on Twitter. “I refused. One month later he did it again with the EXACT same language. I said ‘don't you remember u did this before?’ ”
Toback has addressed the allegations, telling the LA Times that a heart condition, along with diabetes, makes it “biologically impossible” for him to have committed the alleged acts.
Hollywood has seen numerous high-profile figures accused of sexual harassment over the past two weeks, women having first come forward against Harvey Weinstein.
The disgraced Hollywood mogul has denied all allegations.
