Joy: Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper reunite in first trailer for Joy Mangano drama
Joy is based on the inspiring true story of Miracle Mop creator Joy Mangano
Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper are reunited again in the first teaser trailer for David O Russell's upcoming drama Joy.
Lawrence takes the lead as a determined and hard-working single mother who rises from nowhere to become the founder of a billion dollar family empire despite what look to be insurmountable odds.
The film is inspired by the true story of Joy Mangano and also stars Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd and Virginia Madsen. It crosses four decades of Joy's life from the ages of 10 to 40 and addresses a range of themes from love and betrayal to the merciless world of business.
Mangano's company Ingenious Designs LLC is famous for products including the Miracle Mop and Huggle Hangers. "Don't ever think that the world owes you anything, because it doesn't," Joy says after footage of her creating the Mop, in a movie that will likely see the 24-year-old actress tipped for yet more Oscar nominations.
Joy reaches UK cinemas on 1 January 2016.
