Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Fancy knocking back some champagne with Leonardo DiCaprio, maybe asking him how it feels to have won an Oscar for the wrong film or why he’s so good at toasting?

This is now a possibility, and entering for a chance to win this prize will cost you just £5.

Your donation will go to a good cause too - Edinburgh’s new restaurant Home, which both allows the homeless to dine with dignity and employs them in various roles.

A winner will be selected and informed on 11 November, with the prize including the VIP lunch with DiCaprio and Scottish Business Awards chairman Sir Tom Hunter (Leo is keynote speaker at this year’s awards) along with an overnight stay with dinner at The George Hotel for two, first class travel and a £1,000 Champagne and shopping experience at ROX, George Street.

Last year, over £400,000 in donations was raised, allowing charity Social Bite to feed the homeless for an entire year throughout Scotland.

There’s no limit on the number of vouchers that can be purchased, but you must do so before 7am on Saturday 28 October. Enter here.
