The actor - who plays Groot - confirmed the news in a Facebook live video that appeared on his personal page following the achievement of scoring over 100 million followers.
“Now, the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting," he told his fans. "You were told before everybody.”
No more details were added but it's a fair bet that their appearance will be set up in sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which is set to be released May 2017 despite it previously being branded a 'standalone' film.
Diesel's 2017 will also include the release of Fast 8 which is currently filming. The actor has reportedly been embroiled in an on-set feud with Dwayne Johnson.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will see Diesel reunite with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista.
Avengers: Infinity War will be released 28 April 2018.
