The long-awaited cinematic spin-off to cult BBC sitcom The Office is almost upon us and a brand new trailer has surfaced giving fans an insight as to what antics they can expect from beloved Ricky Gervais character, David Brent
Well, it seems he's not changed that much since The Office ended in 2003. Save for the fact he's now pursuing his dreams of becoming an internationally-renowned rock star, that is.
To prep for a self-financed tour with his rock band Foregone Conclusion, however, Brent is working as a travelling salesman selling ladies' hygiene products.
"On the road is where I really come alive," he narrates over a trailer that sees him making as many cringeworthy wisecracks as you'd hope a David Brent film to include.
Gervais first debuted the character back in 2001. The actor himself stated the BBC Films-backed mockumentary "delves much more into his private life than The Office ever did."
To promote the spin-off, Gervais has set some live concerts with the band featured in the film.
David Brent: Life on the Road will be released in the UK on 19 August.
