Borat 2: Babysitter Jeanise Jones cast as angel in new comedy from South Park writer

Jeanise Jones, one of the break-out stars of Borat 2, has been cast as an angel in a new comedy film.

Professional babysitter Jones features in a number of scenes in Sacha Baron-Cohen’s comedy sequel after she is tasked with looking after Borat’s teenage daughter Tutar (Maria Bakalova).

Having been hailed by viewers as the film’s moral compass, the 62-year-old is now putting her angelic image to good use, as it was announced on Monday (2 November) that Jones will play God’s right-hand angel in new satirical comedy Reincarnated Royal.

“I know the world thinks I have this angel thing in the bag, but it's going to be very challenging playing the role,” Jones told Bleeding Cool.

“I hope the Queen of England thinks I'm an angel, ’cause I don't want to get taken out.”

The film is written by former South Park and Brass Eye writer Jane Bussman, who said of casting Jones: “Like everyone else, we were in tears at Jeanise's appearance in the searing documentary Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, where she inspired Borat's daughter Tutar to become Kazakhstan's leading feminist, and gave hope to other 15-year-old spinsters.”

Reincarnated Royal has been described as a satirical comedy targeting high-profile figures, including “self-proclaimed 'mentors' of teenage girls” and “a certain prime CEO”.

Jones originally stated that she felt “betrayed” by her appearance in Borat 2, stating that she believed Tutar was a real person who may have been sold into the sex trade.

After it emerged that she was paid $3,600 (£2,600) to appear in the film, her pastor set up an online fundraiser to properly compensate her for her contribution to Borat 2 – full title Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

At the time of writing, $175,000 (£134,00) has been donated, with Baron-Cohen himself making a donation of $100,000 (£77,000) to her Oklahoma City community.
