A possible sequel to Bohemian Rhapsody is being seriously discussed, according to a filmmaker who has directed several Queen videos.

Rudi Dolezal, who worked on the videos for “These Are the Days of Our Lives”, “Show Must Go On”, and “The Invisible Man” among other credits, told Page Six the Queen biopic could get a second instalment.

Speaking about the group’s manager Jim Beach, Dolezal said: “I’m sure he plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid.”

The potential sequel, he said, is “being heavily discussed in the Queen family”.

Bohemian Rhapsody, released in October 2018 in the UK and November 2018 in the US, has earned more than $875m (£666m) worldwide.

The film won four Academy Awards, including the Oscar for Best Actor for Rami Malek, who plays Freddie Mercury.

Bohemian Rhapsody also attracted criticism for the way it depicts Mercury’s life, especially aspects pertaining to his sexuality and HIV diagnosis.

The movie was originally directed by Bryan Singer before he was removed from the project and replaced with Dexter Fletcher.

Singer was hit by sexual abuse allegations during awards season, which caused GLAAD to remove Bohemian Rhapsody‘s nomination for Outstanding Film – Wide Release at the GLAAD Media Awards. He has denied the claims against him.
