Black Panther cast receive students from Identity School of Acting students

The box-office breaking Black Panther has been playing in cinemas around the world, inspiring young people with its message of breaking down boarders and helping those in need.

Disney has carried out that message, taking cast members to meet a group of students from the Identity School of Acting, an acclaimed multicultural school based in London and previously attended by Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in Black Panther.

The Independent has exclusive video footage of when the students met the cast — including Wright, Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Martin Freeman, and Andy Serkis — as well as director Ryan Coogler. Watch above.

Highlights include Coogler talking about the questions he asked when writing Black Panther, how both T’Challa and Killmonger take from his own characteristics, and his favourite film being the Jacques Audiard-directed French prison picture A Prophet.

Boseman also talks about writing — making a comparison to the movie Shakespeare in Love — while Letita, Kaluuya, and Gurira discuss how they approached acting in Black Panther.

Other famous faces who are part of the Identity group include John Boyega, whose agent Femi Oguns started it.

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is in UK cinemas now
