From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Having dominated at the Box Office with Get Out, Daniel Kaluuya will be returning to the big screen next year in Marvel blockbuster Black Panther.

The superhero flick will focus on Chadwick Boseman’s titular character - who debuted in Captain America: Civil War - as he returns home to Wakanda following his father’s death.

Speaking to GQ, Kaluuya teased details regarding the upcoming film, likening it to HBO’s hit fantasy series Game of Thrones, known for featuring stirring family drama and bloody deaths.

“This is an African blockbuster, bruv,” he told the publication. “This is like Game of Thrones. This is crazy. And Ryan Coogler is just, man dem. He’s like us! He’s a normal dude, in a Golden State hat and a Tupac T-shirt directing the whole set. It’s the most beautiful thing to see.”

Last year, Angela Bassett joined Black Panther’s cast, alongside the likes of Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis.

Boseman previously clarified how the film’s tone will depart slightly from the humour-heavy latest entries into the MCU; revealing Black Panther will certainly be, "grittier than in Ant-Man".

Black Panther arrives 6 July 2018.
