Theatrical trailer for Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War has almost arrived, the culmination of 18 Marvel movies spanning 10 years.

Unsurprisingly, with so many characters — both old and new — the third Avengers will be the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe instalment yet, beating previous record hold Captain America: Civil War.

According to the American ticket website Fandango, the movie will last 156 minutes, or two hours 36 minutes. That’s nine minutes longer than Civil War, and beats out both pervious Avengers films: The Avengers lasted 2 hours and 23 minutes, while Age of Ultron totalled 2 hours and 21 minutes.

Recently, the Russo Brothers spoke about which character would have the most screen time: “Thanos has an incredible amount of screentime in this film, in a lot of ways I would say it’s his movie.” Watch out, Avengers!

Meanwhile, the latest trailer for Infinity War has become the third most-watched trailer within 24 hours — the record holder remaining the first Infinity War trailer.

Infinity War reaches cinemas 27 April.
