Film adaptation A Street Cat Named Bob arrives in cinemas next month, and this brand new clip shows the moment the titular feline meets recovering drug addict James (Luke Treadaway).
The biographical story follows events written by James Bowen in the bestseller that went on to be published in over 30 languages.
Bowen was a former homeless Covent Garden busker given an opportunity to turn his life around by his support worker, Val (played by Downton Abbey actor Joanne Froggatt in the film). Returning home one day, he finds a ginger cat sat on his doorstep but leaves him assuming he's a neighbour's pet.
When Bob remains outside his front door, James realises he's injured taking him to the RSPCA and deciding to take the cat into his own care.
