London's Royal Opera House (ROH) is attracting worldwide interest ahead of a fundraising sale of 2,000 costumes this weekend.

The ROH hopes to raise "tens of thousands of pounds" from selling costumes including the glittering gold-beaded clothes of Romanian costume designer Marie-Jeanne Lecca.

"We want to raise funds to keep our current stock in good condition and to support new productions," said ROH costume workroom manager Mal Barton.
