New giant naked selfies by street artist Lushsux to be left alone by Geelong council

The two full-frontal artworks by the Melbourne street artist were painted on the side of the Geelong Powerhouse building

City of Greater Geelong's council won't be censoring the images of a giant naked man and woman by street artist Lushsux.

Appearing on the side of the Geelong Powerhouse building, the artworks depict a full-frontal portrait of both a man and a woman, seen taking selfies. Though Melbourne city council has already removed several similar naked selfie works by Lushsux, City of Greater Geelong's planning manager Peter Bettess has said the murals on the disused power station will remain intact.

"These are on a private site, whereas the Melbourne piece was in a public laneway," Bettess said in a statement (via The Guardian). "The human figure has been the subject for countless artists over thousands of years. There will no doubt be strong public opinion about the subject matter."

Lushsux also recently painted a new mural of Kim Kardashian; this time in Sniders Lane in Melbourne, depicting the Instagram post by the star which saw her pose topless next to model Emily Ratajkowski.

This follows a previous order by the City of Sydney to remove Lushsux's two-story nude mural of Kim Kardashian which was splashed across the exterior of Zigi's Art, Wine, and Cheese bar in Chippendale; with the bar's owner Zigi Ozeri given 14 days to remove the piece after a formal complaint was made by a neighbour.
