Magnum exhibition has a taste for life
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. An extrodinary set of photographs will be showcased at Liberty's, with never before displayed photos from the world renowned photo agency Magnum.
The exhibit titled “A Taste of Life” takes images from around the world that capture pivotal emotional moments to illustrate life’s intensity. Our reactions and feelings to events like the US Presidential elections are captured, as well as confrontations with nature and danger and fleeting moments of romance.
The exhibit will also feature never before displayed images of Muhammad Ali and Marilyn Monroe as well as images from photographers Eve Arnold and Peter Marlow. Magnum Photos President, Stuart Franklin, who was asked by the makers of Tanqueray gin who are launching the exhibit, to capture his own interpretations of “A Taste for Life” will also be on display.
Alongside Magnum photos will be the winning images from a national photograph competition for photographer’s interpretation of “A Taste for Life”. The winning image from Daniel Clinch of Tunbridge Wells entitled ‘Treading a Fresh Path’ will be on display.
