OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The hotel is located by a pretty canal in the trendy Jordaan district, with numerous restaurants, bars and boutiques. Still central, but away from the bustle, it's near main sights like the Anne Frank House, Dam and Centraal Station. Popular bars nearby include historic Café 't Smalle and the stylish Pulitzer's Bar, while recommended restaurants include Japanese Pancake World and La Perla Pizzeria for authentic pizzas cooked in a wood oven.
By train: the Eurostar goes direct from London St Pancras to Amsterdam Centraal. The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the station. Book trains to Amsterdam.
By plane: direct flights from London and Manchester take around 1 hour 15 minutes. The hotel is a 25-minute drive from Schiphol airport and a 10-minute drive (or 20-minute walk) from central station. Book flights to Amsterdam.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
Spread over two old canal houses, this hotel is cosy and welcoming. The little lobby area looks out to the canal, and there's a pleasant seating area with a long mustard yellow banquette, long communal and small tables, and retro chairs. Black and white photos of aspects of Amsterdam line the olive green walls up the staircases.

The staff are young, friendly and helpful. There's no bar or restaurant, spa or gym, but breakfast is served in a pleasant room with both communal as well as individual seating.
