Car hire is recommended as public transport is very limited. Nearby, you'll find dramatic nature and scenery, wonderful walks and the Agios Ioannis Lambadistis monastery, one of the finest UNESCO sites in Cyprus.

All the rooms spread over seven stone-walled houses have been lovingly restored, their beamed ceilings, shuttered windows and fireplaces blending seamlessly with elegant furnishings, modern bathrooms and a neutral décor adorned with stylish lamps, textiles and artwork. The food in all five restaurants is first-rate. We dined on tasty moussaka at Byzantino and delicious barbecued langoustines hanging from a hook at Loutraki. Cypriot and mountain ingredients feature strongly and include goat's cheese, herbs and seasonal fruits from local orchards. Breakfast is a feast of Cypriot syrup-drenched baked halva, cheeses, eggs and meats.
