THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Situated within the heart of the historic Old Town, the hotel is a short walk from restaurants, galleries, boutiques and top sights such as Palma Cathedral, Almudaina Palace and the Arab baths. The marina and beach are a five-minute drive, while Palma airport is around a 20-minute drive away. If you're looking to eat out, restaurants Aramata, Mise en Place and El Camino are good choices.

By plane: there are direct flights from London (2 hours 25 mins), Manchester (2 hours 40 mins) and Edinburgh (3 hours). The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Palma de Mallorca airport. Paid parking available nearby for €30 per day. Book flights to Mallorca.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

This beautifully restored 19th-century mansion has a relaxing ambience and is peppered with designer furnishings augmenting the delightful public areas. Interior designer Maria Jose Cabré has retained many original features such as ceiling frescoes, moldings and a historic staircase, as well as arched doors, large windows and much use of warm, natural materials such as wood and stone.

BED AND BATH

Quite a few of the rooms and suites have balconies or terraces overlooking Sant Francesc square or the hotel's garden. The décor is neutral, with creams, biscuits, and greys. There may be oak floors, French windows and wooden beams; air-conditioning, a Nespresso coffee machine and a king-sized bed come as standard.
