Novak Djokovic has won his fourth Wimbledon title today after he beat Kevin Anderson in the men’s singles final.

Both finalists played record-breaking, energy-sapping five-set semi-finals to reach the tournament's finale. But Anderson's six-hour-36-minute duel with John Isner at least finished on the day it started on Friday.

Djokovic's thriller against long-time rival Rafael Nadal lasted a mere five hours 15 minutes, but only three sets of that could be completed before the Wimbledon curfew at 11 pm on Friday, and the pair had to come back on Saturday to finish off before the women's final.

But the Serb had enough in the tank to see off the South African in three sets.

Deuce

We've just had our longest rally, 17 shots, and Anderson comes off second best after missing the chance to finish off Djokovic who was being made to work behind his baseline. The Serbian hits a stunning cross-court shot out of Anderson's reach but Anderson fights back with a strong forehand shot to take it to Deuce.

Anderson is doing better in the longer rallies but is struggling with how low Djokovic is returning some of his shots. Djokovic wraps up the game on the second deuce with a forehand shot a in the opposite direction that Anderson was running.

A strong response from Anderson after missing out on a break of serve as he takes his game, dropping just the one point.

Anderson is looking quite good when he attacks the net. Djokovic takes a 30-0 lead but Anderson fights back with some nice hand work at the net. 30-30.

Anderson has a first break point after forcing Djokovic very wide. However, the Serbian wins a long rally as Anderson's backhand-slice is hit too far and we go to deuce.

Djokovic wins the second set

Djokovic takes the advantage with a neat double-handed backhand, and then the set. A powerful serve leaves Anderson no chance of returning the ball and Djokovic leads 2-0 on sets.

Djokovic strolls to a two-set lead and has a hand on his fourth Wimbledon trophy. We've only been going for an hour and 12 minutes and it seems that Anderson's torturous journey is taking its toll on him.
