Novak Djokovic has won his fourth Wimbledon title today after he beat Kevin Anderson in the men’s singles final.

Both finalists played record-breaking, energy-sapping five-set semi-finals to reach the tournament's finale. But Anderson's six-hour-36-minute duel with John Isner at least finished on the day it started on Friday.

Djokovic's thriller against long-time rival Rafael Nadal lasted a mere five hours 15 minutes, but only three sets of that could be completed before the Wimbledon curfew at 11 pm on Friday, and the pair had to come back on Saturday to finish off before the women's final.

But the Serb had enough in the tank to see off the South African in three sets.

The doctor is back on, Anderson spent 21 hours getting to the final and it appears to be taking its toll on him. The doctor is working on massaging his right wrist.

Anderson is back up and has a word with himself after his 13th unforced error goes into the net. He trails Djokovic 15-30.

This is really bad for Anderson. His serve and forehand are usually so strong but Djokovic is making light work of his opponent.

Maybe Djokovic really wants to watch the World Cup at 16:00. He is making very light work of Anderson as he holds serve. The fastest ever Wimbledon mens final win was in 1881 when William Renshaw defeated John Hartley 6-0 6-1 6-1 in 36 minutes.

We got to Deuce. Anderson was 40-15 up and getting support from the crowd but a series of mis-hits allows Djokovic back into the game.

Djokovic fails to return a serve to hand Anderson an advantage but a double-fault takes us back to deuce. A ball falls from Anderson's pocket mid-rally and we go again to replay the point.

Djokovic beats himself up over an error which hands Anderson the advantage and he holds serve by following it up with some nice play at the net. That was a big hold from Anderson and Djokovic had a great opportunity to take an even more commanding role in this set.

The cheers get louder each time Anderson wins a point. He strikes first as he senses a chance to break Djokovic's serve, but the Serb follows that with an ace. 15-15

'Game Djokovic' is sounding very familiar as he continues to quickly dismiss Anderson. Two aces and some fine play from his baseline is doing wonders for his chances of glory.

Disappointment for Anderson who finds the net after containing Djokovic for a long rally. Djokovic senses a chance to break his serve, and after another Anderson double-fault - his third, the Serbian breaks his opponent after Anderson is rushed into a forehand shot from his baseline
