Your support makes all the difference.England are through to the quarter-finals of World Cup 2018 after a nail-biting penalty shootout victory over Colombia.
Harry Kane had put England into the lead shortly after half-time from the penalty spot after the striker was fouled by defender Carlos Sanchez, with the captain brushing himself down to score his sixth goal of the tournament to remain top goalscorer.
But Colombia displayed their incredible resilience to score in the 93rd minute through a well-executed header through defender Yelly Mina, sending the game to extra-time with the scores locked at 1-1.
With no splitting the teams after 30 additional minutes, the game headed to penalties with England slipping behind when Jordan Henderson's effort was saved. However, Mateus Uribe rattled his effort off the crossbar before goalkeeper Jordan Pickford saved from Carlos Bacca, setting up Eric Dier to score the match-winning penalty and send England through to a quarter-final against Sweden. Here's how the action unfolded.

Prediction:
Colombia 1-1 England (England win on penalties). It’s pretty unlikely, because England don’t win shootouts, but Germany don’t go out at the group stage so who knows?
48 mins: We are at the end of the three added minutes at the end of this half, with Dele Alli down for treatment on his thigh after a Falcao follow through a couple of moments ago.
HALF TIME: Colombia 0-0 England
We are goalless at the break, but it hasn't been short of controversy. Barrios could and maybe should have been down the tunnel earlier than half-time, after a headbutt on Jordan Henderson, but the referee deemed it a yellow card incident. England have been the better side, but other than from dead balls, have created little in the way of clear cut chances.
Jack Pitt-Brooke on why England are yet to find a breakthrough:
England started on the front foot but every time they go forward they're running into an extremely physical Colombia side. With two big centre-backs and two holding midfielders in front of them, Colombia are proving very difficult to get through no matter how hard England push. And the only chance they've created - the Harry Kane heard from a Kieran Trippier cross - was a half-chance at best. At the other end England have shackled the Colombian counter-attack well enough and Falcao has barely had a kick. But the long this goes on, with England on top but still goalless, the more nervous they will get.

Dele Alli hasn’t had the best game. His defensive work has been good and he’s followed instructions but this still doesn’t feel like quite the role for him and it doesn’t make the most of his chemistry with club mate Harry Kane.
Kane’s link-up play has been nice and his best chance was actually something short of a half-chance that he nearly manufactured a goal from.
For Colombia it’s been Juan Cuadrado who has looked most dangerous, with Juan Fernando Quintero also showing sparkle but they have barely created a chance.

The major concern at the end of that half for England proved Dele Alli's latest injury knock. Will he return for the second half?
Half-time: Major controversy here as video replays show one of the Colombian coaches appearing to deliberately barge into Raheem Sterling as he jogs off for half-time. Crucially, the referee sees it and prevents any flare-up, but it's proving clear to see that the Colombians are intent on winding up the Three Lions.
Mark Critchley explains how the step-up in competition is causing England problems:
It's tetchy, cagey, whatever you want to call it. England have been the better side but they are having problems progressing the ball against an aggressive, combative midfield. The big positive from the opening two games - the danger at set-pieces - has been nullified. Colombia are far better at defending dead balls than either Tunisia or Panama and haven't looked troubled by the deliveries.
Kieran Trippier has impressed crossing from open play. The back three is coping well so far too. If England can figure out how to bypass this midfield of bruisers, they'll find some joy. If not, it'll be tight and one goal for either side will win it.
