From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. England are through to the quarter-finals of World Cup 2018 after a nail-biting penalty shootout victory over Colombia.

Harry Kane had put England into the lead shortly after half-time from the penalty spot after the striker was fouled by defender Carlos Sanchez, with the captain brushing himself down to score his sixth goal of the tournament to remain top goalscorer.

But Colombia displayed their incredible resilience to score in the 93rd minute through a well-executed header through defender Yelly Mina, sending the game to extra-time with the scores locked at 1-1.

With no splitting the teams after 30 additional minutes, the game headed to penalties with England slipping behind when Jordan Henderson's effort was saved. However, Mateus Uribe rattled his effort off the crossbar before goalkeeper Jordan Pickford saved from Carlos Bacca, setting up Eric Dier to score the match-winning penalty and send England through to a quarter-final against Sweden. Here's how the action unfolded.

What time is it?

The game kicks off at 7pm BST in Moscow.

Where can I watch it?

The game will be shown live on ITV and the ITV Hub, with coverage starting from 6.15pm BST.

Odds:

Colombia: 3/1

England: 23/20

Draw after 90 minutes: 2/1

Prediction:

Colombia 1-1 England (England win on penalties). It’s pretty unlikely, because England don’t win shootouts, but Germany don’t go out at the group stage so who knows?

Do you agree with Gary Neville? Or will it depend on his performance this evening?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this game is shown on ITV. That means to get into the quarter final, we will need to beat the ITV curse that has followed England in recent years:

Results by TV channel since 1998: BBC: P13 W9 D1 L3 ITV: P11 W1 D5 L5

Need any more motivation for England to win tonight? Diego Maradona is supporting Colombia...

10 minute warning. Gather around the TV, it's nearly time.

The teams are walking out, the eyes are set forward, and the hearts are in mouths. We have finally reached the last round of 16 tie, England, Colombia, now is your time to shine

That was quite the noise. England fans are out numbered by the Colombians, and every one of the yellow wall sang their hearts out. England fans are equally excited. This is big, not just for England but Colombia to.
