Eintracht Frankfurt beat 10-man West Ham United 1-0 in their Europa League semi-final second leg to reach their first European final in 42 years with a 3-1 aggregate victory.

In front of a deafening 48,000 crowd, Rafael Borre drilled in the winner for the hosts in the 26th minute, beating the English club for a second time following a 2-1 triumph in the first leg last week.

West Ham, who played most of the game with 10 men after left back Aaron Cresswell was dismissed for a professional foul on Jens Petter Hauge in the 17th minute, were toothless throughout. Hammers manager David Moyes was also sent off in the 79th minute for angrily kicking a ball in a frustrating and scrappy end to West Ham’s European run this season.

The Germans, who last reached a European final in 1980, will face Rangers on May 18 after the Scottish side knocked out RB Leipzig.

Follow reaction from a crucial clash in Frankfurt below:

74 mins: SUB! Said Benrahma replaces Pablo Fornals. The Algerian was a bright spark in the second half of the first leg.

Can he produce anything here?

72 mins: West Ham’s players look absolutely drained. Declan Rice doesn’t appear to be moving very freely either. Does he have an issue?

West Ham come forward despite their fatigue and nearly work a good chance! It’s all through Antonio as he creates the space for a ball into the box before firing it into the area and forcing Trapp to parry away.

70 mins: Space opening up for Frankfurt now.

Kamada slides the ball to Kostic who hangs a cross up. Zouma rises highest to head it clear and it drops to Kamada again on the edge of the box. He takes a touch and fires a low effort towards the bottom corner but it’s never troubling Fabianski.

Benrahma is getting ready to come on for West Ham.

68 mins: West Ham build up from the halfway line but Coufal loses it and Fornals thumps the ball away in frustration after it runs out for a Frankfurt throw.

West Ham haven’t given up hope, but the match is beginning to peeter out a little.

66 mins: YELLOW! Rode goes in the book for a reckless challenge on Bowen. Oh how West Ham would love for this game to become 10 vs 10.

As it is, Frankfurt are keeping West Ham at bay despite the Hammers’ half-chances.

64 mins: Fornals wins a free-kick just inside the Frankfurt half after being caught on the head going up for a challenge.

The set-piece is launched deep into the Frankfurt penalty area and it drops for Dawson. The centre-back takes it down on his chest but then rifles a venomous cross over everyone’s heads and out for a throw.

62 mins: Antonio hunts down another ball and wins a throw-in for his side midway inside the West Ham half. Coufal has to pull Antonio back to his feet because he looks knackered. He has put in one hell of a shift tonight!

60 mins: How long before David Moyes makes an attacking change? He does have Said Benrahma and Andriy Yarmolenko on the bench.

West Ham growing into the game now. Antonio spins his marker in the left channel and sends a wicked delivery into the box. Dawson has gambled and made a run into the box but his header is too close to Trapp.
