John Terry could follow in the footsteps of his former teammate Frank Lampard by taking over the Derby County hot-seat, should Lampard return to Stamford Bridge in a managerial capacity.

Terry, currently a coach at Aston Villa, has impressed since hanging up his boots, and is cited as a positive influence on multiple young players at Villa Park. The appointment would raise the prospect of maintaining the links with Chelsea established by Lampard, who was able to procure the loan signing of Mason Mount last campaign.
