Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.
It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

At the end of a subdued first half punctuated by only a handful of chances for either side, Southampton head down the tunnel in front, thanks to some persistent play and a fine finish from an unlikely source. Bednarek's goal separates the sides, as Arsenal slip within 45 minutes of a third consecutive defeat, and the visitors cannot complain at this stage due to their lack of intensity in the final third. If they want Champions League football, the Gunners will have to do better after the break.

Arsenal are stunned by going behind, and the invitation provided by Tottenham's loss earlier may end up not being taken by the off-colour Gunners.

For the second time in quick succession, former Southampton defender Cedric curls an inswinging free-kick from the left straight into the side-netting. Both were wasted opportunities to provide delivery into the box.
