Rangers vs Tottenham LIVE: Europa League result and reaction as Spurs and Gers play out thrilling draw
Rangers 1-1 Tottenham: An entertaining clash at Ibrox saw Dejan Kulusevski earn Spurs a draw after Hamza Igamane had given Gers the lead
Rangers earned a 1-1 draw with Premier League opposition as they and Tottenham played out a thrilling Europa League clash on former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou’s return to Ibrox.
A frantic end-to-end encounter saw Hamza Igamane give Gers the lead early in the second half but Postecoglou’s subs made the difference and Dejan Kulusevski finished off a lovely team move for the equaliser 15 minutes from time.
It means both teams are right on the cusp of an all-important top eight spot that would put them straight into the last 16 of the competition with two crucial group stage matches remaining in the New Year.
The draw does mean that Spurs have now only won one game from their last eight and the pressure on Postecoglou won’t have lessened too much after this result, although there were some positive signs from the English outfit.

Near disaster from Jefte as he heads the ball abck to his keeper, who is rushing out and it almost squirts past Butland on the edge of the are, although the stopper is just able to get down and block it. They have a little laugh about it but that was almost a nightmare.
Triple change for Spurs, who had to do something. Lucas Bergvall, Dominic Solanke and Pape Sarr all come on as Bissouma, Bentancur and Johnson depart.

Johnson blocks Cerny’s cross with Udogie having flown out of position and it’s another Rangers corner. Neat short corner routine frees Bajrami and his ball into the six-yard box only just evades Rangers legs as Forster smothers it.
Spurs can’t exit though, Cerny immediately pinches the ball from Johnson and drives forward before Diomande beautifully volleys a dropping ball and it’s deflected narrowly wide. Gray heads the corner behind for another corner and this time Tottenham can clear. They’re really under the pump though.

Brennan Johnson should do better here. Bentancur strudes forward, slips the ball to Kulusevski down the right and his pullback sits up for the onrushing Johnson but he curls his shot comfortably wide as Kulusevski drops his head in disappointment and Johnson grimaces. That should have been on target from the Welshman.

The impressive Cerny causing problems again as Ridvan feeds him the ball on the right, he drops a shoulder cuts inside a man and darts into the box before eventually being crowded out by frantic Spurs defenders.

WHAT A START TO THE SECOND HALF FOR RANGERS! It’s a lovely finish from Hamza Igamane as he slots the ball past Forster into the corner first time with his left foot.
Porro gets caught out as Tavernier’s pinpoint cross from the right, over a defender, bounces once and Igamane does the rest having shaken free of Porro.

There’s also a half-time Tottenham change with Dejan Kulusevski coming on for the underwhelming Timo Werner.
HALF-TIME! Rangers 0-0 Tottenham
An entertaining first half, where Rangers have had the better of it and came close on a couple of occasions but are yet to breach a seemingly leaky Spurs backline. Nine shots, three on target for Gers.
Spurs have shown flashes going forward but the Scots have been on top.
