From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

GOAL

ARSENAL 3 - 1 BOURNEMOUTH

The job is done for Arsenal, and who else but Sanchez?

Another Arsenal counter attack breaks the Bournemouth defence and this has surely sealed the deal now for the home side. Giroud pulls the ball back for Sanchez and it's an easy tap in for the striker.

Arsenal have secured the three points over their opponents, but Bournemouth deserve credit for their resilient display and for battling until the end.

The better team won on the day, and this keeps Arsenal chasing the top spot. It was a hard fought win, but it is one that Wenger will be proud of his side for.

SOUTHAMPTON 1 - 0 EVERTON

GOAL (1 MINS)

It's a fantastic start for the home side, with just 43 seconds played, they take the lead.

The ball comes into the box and then it deflects off Coleman and falls into the path of Austin, who pokes it home. Great start for The Saints.
