Chelsea captain John Terry may have played his final game for the club after he was sent off in the 3-2 defeat to Sunderland.

The former England captain, who has played more than 700 matches for the Blues since making his debut in 1998, will be banned for the final two games of the season.

He receives an automatic one-game ban for the red card and a further game for it being his second red card of the campaign.

Terry's future, of course, is the subject of much speculation.

The 35-year-old is yet to sign a new contract to stay at Stamford Bridge and it appears increasingly unlikely that he will be offered one. Terry, who also has 78 England caps, has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer.

He has won the Premier League four times, five FA Cups, the League Cup three times, the Europa League and the Champions League.

Terry was twice voted as the Chelsea Player of the Year, he is a former PFA Players' Player of the Year and has been named in the Premier League and Uefa Team of the Year four times each.
