The Merseyside derby kicks off a busy day of Premier League action that could end with Manchester City lifting the title, but first all eyes will be on Goodison Park as Everton host Liverpool with the Reds coming off their incredible Champions League victory in midweek.

But that breath-taking 3-0 win over City has resulted in Jürgen Klopp resting a number of key players including top scorer Mohamed Salah, with one eye on Tuesday’s second leg at the Etihad Stadium. Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke both start for the Reds, while Nathaniel Clyne makes his first appearance of the season.

Everton meanwhile are at full strength for the derby, with Cenk Tosun leading the attack and Wayne Rooney, Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott also starting, but local boy Dominic Calvert-Lewis is named on the bench,

82' - Everton are in the ascendancy here.

This time it's Cenk Tosun with the cross into the box but the well-positioned Theo Walcott slips at the vital moment and Liverpool clear their lines.

87' - Huge opportunity for Everton!

Theo Walcott's superb cross into the box finds Cenk Tosun at the far post but he puts his header back across goal and wide of Loris Karius' far post.

That was the best chance of the match!

88' - ANOTHER CHANCE FOR EVERTON!

Seamus Coleman's low cross into the box takes a few deflections before landing at the feet of Dominic Calvert-Lewin just yards from goal at the far post. The young striker shoots first time but he miscues his effort and the ball flies wide.

So, so wasteful. Everton could've had three goals in the last 10 minutes or so.

90' - Three added minutes to come.

Full-time - Everton 0-0 Liverpool

It's all over at Goodison Park and it's ended goalless in the Merseyside derby!

Liverpool were in control for the majority of the match but Everton rallied late on and threated to win it on more than one occasion.

Decent game.
