But that breath-taking 3-0 win over City has resulted in Jürgen Klopp resting a number of key players including top scorer Mohamed Salah, with one eye on Tuesday’s second leg at the Etihad Stadium. Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke both start for the Reds, while Nathaniel Clyne makes his first appearance of the season.
Everton meanwhile are at full strength for the derby, with Cenk Tosun leading the attack and Wayne Rooney, Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott also starting, but local boy Dominic Calvert-Lewis is named on the bench,

What time does it start?
Everton vs Liverpool kicks off at 12:30 BST on Saturday 7 April.
Where can I watch it?
The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event from 11:30 BST.
4' - Fairly slow start here at a very wet Goodison Park.
It's been hammering it down all morning but the playing surface looks absolutely immaculate, which should make for a really exciting game
8' - No clear-cut chances for either side as of yet. Liverpool have probably had slightly more possession than Everton but it's been a pretty even start to the game.
12' - Chance!
The first opportunity of the match falls to Dominic Solanke but the young striker's header from James Milner's cross goes wide of Jordan Pickford's far post.
At the other end Cenk Tosun tries his luck from distance but the ball sails well over the crossbar.
16' - Great stop!
Nathaniel Clyne's cross into the box ricochets off an Everton defender and falls kindly to Dominic Solanke just outside the six-yard box. The former Chelsea man shoots first time but Jordan Pickford produces a wonderful reflex save to keep the scores level.
20' - Real end-to-end game, this.
The first 10 minutes were pretty stale but the last 10 have been really good and, as expected, the soppy pitch has contributed to the excitement.
23' - What a save!
Yannick Bolasie must think he's scored as he bends a sumptuous effort towards the top corner from 25 yards out... but Loris Karius has other ideas as he springs to his left to tip the ball behind for a corner.
Magnificent play all round.
