Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

King picks up possession in the middle and charges towards the Southampton final third. Its a three on two situation in Bournemouth's favour, but Wilson fails to control the through ball and the attack deflates.
Substitution: Boufal is replaced by Tadic.
67 MINS
Redmond finds Bertrand's overlapping run down the left-hand side and the delivery into the box is dealt with by Boruc. They need to do be more clinical in front of goal if they want to deny Bournemouth any opportunity for a comeback.
70 MINS
Bournemouth slowly progress into the Southampton half, with Cook finding Francis on the right. The 31-year-old then delivers the ball into the box and Bertrand appears to take the ball down with his arm. A roar from the home fans is not enough to persuade the referee - play on.

Another mistake from Hojbjerg gives Bournemouth a free-kick just outside of the penalty area. He clumsily clashes into Wilshire in an unnecessary challenge.
The 21-year-old has been seriously under-par today after giving away possession and fouls on several occasions.
The free kick goes short and is wasted.

Yellow card: Clasie receives a booking for a collision with Wilshire.

Yellow card: Davis is booked for a tough challenge on Smith.
However, it looks although that was a tactical foul to give his side a chance to get back into possession and prevent the Bournemouth attack.

Fraser is in possession inside of the Southampton box, but he is surrounded by a sea of white shirts and had no options around him. The home sides forwards are appearing lost up there.

GOAL
BOURNEMOUTH 1 - 3 SOUTHAMPTON
Rodriguez has doubled his tally and it is a technically terrific finish. Redmond is tackled on the edge of the box and the ball bounces just right for the goal scorer and he volleys home his sides third of the afternoon. It's a tremendous example of his individual ability that leaves Boruc helpless.
