Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's south coast derby between Bournemouth and Southampton, brought to you from the Vitality Stadium as ninth and tenth in the Premier League table prepare to go to battle.
Four of the last five competitive meetings between today's two sides have ended in a 2-0 win for the team playing at home. So, this statistic stands in the favour of Howe's men, who go in search of consecutive wins for the first time this campaign.

Player to watch out for today...
Southampton academy star Harrison Reed signed a four-and-a-half year contract - keeping him with The Saints until 2021. The youngster has been a key prospect for Puel's side in the EFL Cup and Europa League campaign, but only has 12 minutes of Premier League time under his belt, so far. He is certainly one to keep an eye on.
A win today will take Bournemouth above their south-coast opponents, but Puel's men will be hunting the three points today to rocket them up to seventh in the PL table. It's all on the line today.
Jack Wilshire starts for the home side today, as he continues to rack up game-time with Bournemouth. He has already played more minutes in the 'Premier League season this season, than in the two previous seasons with Arsenal combined. He's settled in well under the management of Howe and he is proving a key element to the Bournemouth midfield.
Bournemouth's bid for goals
Callum Wilson returns to the side today after being cleared for concussion. Benik Afobe will be sidelined, to make room for the in-demand striker. Transfer talk continues surrounding the 24-year-old, with Everton and West Ham both targeting The Cherries man.
