Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction
Nottingham Forest 1-1 Chelsea: Serge Aurier’s second-half goal cancelled out Raheem Sterling’s opener
Chelsea dropped more points in their quest to climb back up the Premier League standings as Serge Aurier earned Nottingham Forest a 1-1 draw with Graham Potter’s side.
Fresh from their first league win in six games last time out against Bournemouth, Chelsea started well in the Nottingham drizzle, with Raheem Sterling firing them into the lead in the 16th minute.
Forest improved after the break and were desperately unlucky not to equalise early in the second half as Morgan Gibbs-White’s drilled half-volley hit the underside of the crossbar but bounced on the goal line and away.
The hosts kept coming and deservedly levelled things up as Aurier fired home in the 63rd minute from a corner and looked the more likely to go on to win the match but it ended all square.

CHANCE! Gibbs-White releases Johnson in acres of space down the right flank and he bears down on goal. Awoniyi races forward in support, but Johnson ignores him and goes for the strike himself that Kepa repels with a strong hand before the Blues scramble away the rebound.

SAVE! Freuler slips a delicate pass through for Awoniyi and he shoots in the turn in the inside-left channel, but Kepa gets down to make a comfortable stop.

Steve Cooper needs to find a way to unlock the Chelsea defence. Forest have not been clinical enough in the final third and their record after conceding the first goal is alarming to say the least, losing all seven of their previous encounters. They need a special second-half performance to avoid defeat here.
Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea
Chelsea hold a 1-0 lead over Nottingham Forest at the break in their Premier League match at the City Ground. Raheem Sterling was in the right place at the right time to convert on the rebound to put the Blues ahead after Willy Boly flicked Christian Pulisic's cross onto the crossbar. Forest had a couple of chances on the break, but Brennan Johnson was denied twice by Kepa Arrizabalaga. The game remains in the balance, but the Blues look fairly comfortable at the back.
