Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Chelsea hosted Watford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues have their Champions League chances firmly in their own hands after they battled to a deserved win over the Hornets at Stamford Bridge. A tepid first-half was put behind them in the second with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain all scoring to move Maurizio Sarri's side up to third above Tottenham and Arsenal in the race for the top four.

We'll have all the latest throughout the afternoon here.

Chelsea 3-0 Watford, 84 minutes

Isaac Success looks to have the ball in the net with virtually his first touch, but unfortunately for the Nigerian the ball flicks off fellow substitute Andre Gray on the way through, who is offside.

Huddersfield 1-1 Manchester United, 88 minutes

A top save from Jonas Lössl, but one he shouldn't have had to have made.

Tahith Chong is two yards offside as he is played in but allowed to continue and fires powerfully across the goalkeeper, who gets his fingertips to it brilliantly.

Paul Pogba then strikes the crossbar from 20 yards!

Chelsea 3-0 Watford, 89 minutes

A rousing ovation for Gary Cahill as he gets a Stamford Bridge farewell, replacing David Luiz for the dying embers. He and Maurizio Sarri have had their issues, but that's a nice touch from the manager.

Isaac Mbenza gets a standing ovation as Huddersfield replace their goalscorer. Adama Diakhaby comes on.

EIGHT minutes added on. Still up for grabs.

Onwards we go at the John Smith's.

Two minutes down, six to go. Late drama?

Huddersfield 1-1 Manchester United, 90 + 3 minutes

Paul Pogba slips as he shoots. Goal kick. That's Manchester United's 21st attempt. Just five on target, mind.

Huddersfield 1-1 Manchester United, 90 + 5 minutes

Ander Herrera flicks the ball up to himself and volleys...

Tamely into the hands of Jonas Lössl.

Tommy Smith intercepts, but gives it straight back.

Manchester United can't profit. Into the final minute of additional time.

Marcus Rashford fires at Jonas Lössl's near post, but the goalkeeper is more than equal to it, clinging on to his right.
