Jack Harrison scored the equaliser in Leeds United’s 2-2 draw with Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, making up for the own goal he conceded earlier in the game.
Leeds had arrived at Elland Road with plenty of pressure on them after Bournemouth’s 1-0 upset of Liverpool earlier in the day dropped them into the relegation zone.
They breathed a sigh of relief when Harrison scored in the 78th minute after a short corner from Wilfried Gnonto, giving them a valuable point although they remain in 19th place.
The equaliser came after Harrison, under pressure from Solly March, had put the ball into his own net in the 61st minute.
Alexis Mac Allister had opened the scoring for Brighton in the 33rd minute heading in his ninth goal of the season.
Patrick Bamford then scored his 49th goal overall for Leeds in the 40th minute, when his strike from the edge of the box was deflected and went in off the underside of the crossbar.
Brighton, who arrived with a club-record 11 Premier League wins already this season, are seventh in the table on 39 points.

Summerville does brilliantly in his own box. Gross tries to slide a throughball down the left side of the box with the winger stretching his foot out to stop it from going to Estupinan.

SAVE! Bamford drives inside from the left before playing the ball into the box. Aaronson is there, slipping to the floor before getting back to his feet. Just to the right, he shoots low across the goal with Steele getting down to push it behind.

OVER! Webster gives the ball straight to Adams who slides the ball into the path of Aaronson. The American takes a touch before crashing the ball well over from outside the box.

Leeds get the ball rolling again. The score is level with no changes for either side.

Brighton should be delighted with the display in the first half, even though they don't have the lead. They have controlled the match and have caused the home fans to get frustrated with their side's lack of intensity on the front foot. Mitoma has stretched the pitch brilliantly on the left wing and has had the beating of Ayling, with the right-back struggling to deal with his pace and technical quality. As a result, Leeds need to replace the 31-year-old with Kristensen as they are targeting him with every attack.

Brighton are denied a lead at the break after a brilliant strike from Bamford. The Leeds man scored against the run of play, powering a strike past Steele from the edge of the box with the ball taking a deflection off Webster. The away side scored a deserved opener on 33 minutes when Mac Allister finished off a wonderful move, but the Argentine failed to restore the Seagulls' lead just before the break. Mitoma registered an assist for the first goal and should have doubled his tally for the game when he found the Argentina international in the middle of the box, but Mac Allister missed the target.
