Liam Delap was the hero for the promoted home team, scoring twice with great power and poise in the final third to save a point for the Tractor Boys. The former Man City man netted the opener with a sweeping finish which Emi Martinez should have kept out, before Villa turned the match on its head through a Morgan Rogers clipped effort and an Ollie Watkins header before the break. But Delap had the last word as he beat Diego Carlos and struck a left-footed effort across the keeper and in to leave the result at two goals apiece.
