Your support makes all the difference.Germany needed extra-time to make their way past an enterprising Algeria side.
With the European outfit heavily favoured, they came up against opponents with a greater offensive threat than they had shown during the group stages.
Germany grew better as the game progressed and had chances inside the 90 minutes but were unable to find a way through, while at the other end Manuel Neuer was regularly off his line to clear away any danger.
Yet when the match went into extra-time, Germany needed just one minute rather than the 30 with Andre Schurrle converting with a nifty finish from close range.
There was still time for two more goals in the final minutes. Mesut Ozil scored in the last minute of injury time to put the result beyond doubt before Algeria somehow found time to get one back, Abdelmoumene Djabou scoring after 121 minutes.
The results sets up an all-European tie against France who earlier beat Nigeria 2-0.
