Fulham vs Brighton & Hove Albion LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction
Live action from Craven Cottage as Brighton look to continue their good start to the new season against newly-promoted Fulham
Aleksandar Mitrovic struck again for Fulham as they brought Brighton’s unbeaten start to the season to an end with a 2-1 win at Craven Cottage.
The Serbia forward had already exceeded his tally of three in Fulham’s last Premier League season and he netted his fifth of the new campaign shortly after half-time to break the deadlock.
The hosts added another almost immediately afterwards when Lewis Dunk turned an Andreas Pereira cross into his own net.
Last time the sides met in the top flight during the 2020-21 season, they played out two goalless draws and they looked on course to do so again when the first half finished without a breakthrough, before Mitrovic’s opener.
The result leaves Fulham with eight points after an impressive start to the campaign which kicked off with a surprising draw against Liverpool on the first weekend.

That second win of the season propels Fulham up to sixth in the table in front of a bouncing Craven Cottage. Brighton remain in fourth, but showed some signs that they're not quite the finished article yet in this game, and both sides have still had exceptional starts to the season regardless.

Mitrovic lead the line with aplomb for Fulham, scoring his fifth goal in five games and being a thorn in Brighton's side all game long. He amassed three shots, two of which were on target, as well as a key pass, and also contested a game-high 31 duels, 13 of which came aerially, and won 17 of these. He also completed five successful dribbles, had four touches in the Seagulls box, and won four fouls. Nuisance.

The full-time whistle goes, and Fulham hold on to beat the high-flying Seagulls at the Cottage! Those two goals early in the second half, one of which unfortunately came from the foot of Brighton captain Dunk, sent the hosts on their way, as they cut through the visitors with relative ease. Brighton pulled one back through a VAR-awarded penalty, but in reality never looked close to turning things around in a rather disappointing performance for Graham Potter's side.
