Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Good morning and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of the FA Cup third round tie between Fleetwood Town and Leicester City.
The game has been dubbed the 'Jamie Vardy derby' given the England striker's rise from then-non league Fleetwood up to the Foxes before firing them to the Premier League title and Champions League football.
However, all those gathered at Highbury will have to settle for seeing him in the stands rather than on the pitch as injury has prevented manager Claude Puel from including Vardy in the squad altogether.
Vardy's absence won't stop us though, so stick with us for minute-by-minute updates and don't touch that dial!

55' - Close! Fleetwood's Ashley Hunter skips past Adrien Silva and Daniel Amartey before sending a cross in from the left wing. Yohan Benalouane just about makes an effective block and the ball bounces narrowly wide of Eldin Jakupovic's near post.
That's the hosts' best attack for some time.
58' - Harvey Barnes and Adrien Silva are replaced by Marc Albrighton and Shinji Okazaki for Leicester.
60' - Ben Chilwell's headed clearance from a Fleetwood corner only goes as far as Markus Schwabl, whose sweetly-struck volley is straight at Eldin Jakupovic.
65' - We're heading for a replay here as things stand. Can one of these two teams get a winner in the last 25 minutes?
67' - Demarai Gray does really well to beat his man on the left wing before lofting a cross towards the far post, where Islam Slimani is waiting. However, the cross has a little too much on it and the ball goes out of play before Slimani can reach it.
75' - That;s a really poor finish.
Andy King shoots first time from Matty James' cutback but the midfielder's guided effort drifts well wide of Chris Neal's far post.
