Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Good morning and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of the FA Cup third round tie between Fleetwood Town and Leicester City.
The game has been dubbed the 'Jamie Vardy derby' given the England striker's rise from then-non league Fleetwood up to the Foxes before firing them to the Premier League title and Champions League football.
However, all those gathered at Highbury will have to settle for seeing him in the stands rather than on the pitch as injury has prevented manager Claude Puel from including Vardy in the squad altogether.
Vardy's absence won't stop us though, so stick with us for minute-by-minute updates and don't touch that dial!

GOAL ALERT! Middlesbrough 1-0 Sunderland (Gestede, 10)
Fleetwood vs Leicester isn't the only early match of the day in the FA Cup. Middlesbrough vs Sunderland kicked off at 1pm and Rudy Gestede has just given the home side an early lead.
33' - Leicester, as you'd expect, have been the better side in the early stages and Demarai Gray looks like the most likely player to make something happen for them.
Fleetwood, on the other hand, are struggling a little in possession.
36' - Demarai Gray's free-kick is headed away by Devante Cole but the ball only goes as far as Harvey Barnes, who lashes an optimistic volley high and wide of Chris Neal's goal from just inside the area.
43' - We were treated to a couple of cracking games in the Premier League in midweek but this game is yet to live up to either of those.
It's all been a bit flat in Fleetwood.
45' - We'll have a minimum of two minutes of added time at the end of this first half.
Half-time - Fleetwood 0-0 Leicester
The half-time whistle goes at the end of a forgettable 45 minutes of football.
GOAL ALERT! Middlesbrough 2-0 Sunderland (Braithwaite, 42)
Martin Braithwaite doubles Middlesbrough's lead at the Riverside!
50' - It's been more of the same at the start of this second half in terms of the entertainment we're seeing.
Fleetwood goalkeeper Chris Neal got lucky a couple of minutes ago when his attempted punt up field hit the onrushing Adrien Silva and went behind for a goal-kick.
