From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Paulo Dybala scored two superb first-half goals as Juventus took complete control of their Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona.
It took Dybala just seven minutes to open the scoring, curling home a low shot from the edge of the six-yard box.
He then doubled the Italian champion's advantage when he struck again, angling a first-time shot beyond Marc-André ter Stegen from outside the penalty area.
Barcelona pushed in search of an away goal but conceded again in the second-half, as Giorgio Chiellini climbed above Javier Mascherano at a corner to head home.

Juventus: 33/20
Barcelona: 7/4
Draw: 47/20
72 mins: Khedira goes tumbling to the floor and wants a free-kick, but it looks soft, and he's promptly booked for simulation by the referee.
75 mins: Barcelona are still struggling desperately to score an away goal but Juventus have reverted to playing a very deep defense which even Messi and Suarez are struggling to prize open.
Neymar is able to jink past a couple of tackles before laying off Suarez, but the striker mis-controls it and Chiellini boots it out for a corner.
76 mins: Barcelona swing the ball into the box but Buffon is fouled.
79 mins: Dybala's work is done. The striker is replaced by Rincón.
83 mins: Barcelona are looking staid in possession. That is until Messi gets on the ball. He wriggles past one tackle before being hacked down by Chiellini.
Barca with the free-kick in a central position, less than thirty yards from goal.
86 mins: Messi has to make this count ... but he fires into the wall.
Suarez chases down the rebound and is poised to pull the trigger, but a superb sliding challenge from Chiellini denies him. Corner.
88 mins: Juventus clear the corner, but Barcelona are able to swing the ball back into the box.
Rakitic runs onto the ball in space from the right ... but he balloons his volley well over the bar!
89 mins: Barcelona have one minute plus additional time to score a vital away goal. Can they do it?
Juventus make their final change:
92 mins: A chance for Dani Alves! Juventus win a free-kick in their own-half (which they take an age to take) before spraying the ball upfield to Mandzukic.
He rolls the ball across the face of goal, where it evades just about everybody before being picked up by Alves on the other side of the box. He should probably shoot first time, but doesn't, and his tame shot is then cleared before it can test Ter Stegen.
What an end to the match that would have been.
