From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Paulo Dybala scored two superb first-half goals as Juventus took complete control of their Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona.

It took Dybala just seven minutes to open the scoring, curling home a low shot from the edge of the six-yard box.

He then doubled the Italian champion's advantage when he struck again, angling a first-time shot beyond Marc-André ter Stegen from outside the penalty area.

Barcelona pushed in search of an away goal but conceded again in the second-half, as Giorgio Chiellini climbed above Javier Mascherano at a corner to head home.

18 mins: Another free-kick in a dangerous area for Juve. This time it's cleared before Higuain can get anywhere near it. The Italians then waste the chance to fling the ball back into the box when Pjanic needlessly barges over Neymar.

Barcelona clear their lines.

21 mins: WHAT A SAVE!

Messi plays in Iniesta with a sublime through ball, which completely bisects the Juventus defence and immediately takes no fewer than five players out of the game.

Iniesta runs off the shoulder of the last man and it's a one on one from all of ten yards, but Buffon stands up tall and tips his sidefooted shot a few inches wide. Sensational play all round.

GOAL! Juventus 2 Barcelona 0 (Dybala '22)

Another sweet first-time finish from the Argentinian as Juventus hit Barcelona on the break!

24 mins: Another fantastic strike from the 23-year-old; what a talent.

Barcelona came so very close to scoring an equaliser just a couple of minutes ago, now they are losing 2-0. Juventus break from the corner, Mandzukic storming down the left-wing before cutting the ball back across the face of goal for the lurking Dybala.

This time he's stationed just inside the penalty area rather than just outside the six-yard box, but the end result is much the same. Another first-time finish, whipped into the bottom left corner, beyond the despairing dive of Ter Stegen.

Barcelona have it all to do.

27 mins: Juventus are still on the front foot. Cuadrado dribbles the ball past Mathieu before darting back inside and playing it to Pjanic. The Italians are well on top.

29 mins: Barcelona have the ball in the net, but it's ruled out for offside!

Suarez races clear of the Juventus defence after Messi pickpockets Khedira, before rounding Buffon and slotting the ball into the open net. But he's immediately flagged offside.

It was close...

33 mins: Handbags! Barcelona have been brighter since conceding that second goal and Messi is almost able to dart inside from a wide position, before being shepherded out by Mandzukic.

A goal-kick is given, with Messi less than impressed with how Mandzukic thrust an arm into his face to force him out of play. The Croat attempts to put an arm around his shoulder to apologise, only to be shoved away. The referee gives them both a ticking off.

35 mins: Cuadrado is played into space down the right by Pjanic but elects not to swing the ball into the box first-time. Instead he comes inside before feeding it back to Pjanic, but his first-time shot goes ballooning over the bar.

Dybala he ain't.
