From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It took Dybala just seven minutes to open the scoring, curling home a low shot from the edge of the six-yard box.
He then doubled the Italian champion's advantage when he struck again, angling a first-time shot beyond Marc-André ter Stegen from outside the penalty area.
Barcelona pushed in search of an away goal but conceded again in the second-half, as Giorgio Chiellini climbed above Javier Mascherano at a corner to head home.

Odds

Juventus: 33/20
Barcelona: 7/4
Draw: 47/20
1 min: Juventus with the early pressure and Khedira has an early attempt, which fizzes wide.
3 mins: A good early chance for Juventus, as Iniesta cynically trips up Dybala as he's about to burst through on goal.
Pjanic swings the ball in where Higuain is lurking unmarked in the box! It's a fine opportunity but the striker heads the ball directly into the midriff of Ter Stegen, who smothers it at the second time of asking.
5 mins: Barcelona are struggling to just get out of their own half at the moment. Juventus are pressing very high up the pitch and are refusing to let the opposition move the ball around their defence at a leisurely pace, as they are of course wont to doing.
7 mins: Great stuff. Mathieu absolutely clears out Cuadrado deep into Juventus' half and then has the audacity to mimic a dive when the referee whistles him. Cheeky.
GOAL! Juventus 1 Barcelona 0 (Dybala '6)
What a goal from the little Argentinian! Dybala gives the hosts a lead with a fantastic finish from the edge of the six-yard box.
9 mins: It really was a sumptuous finish. Cuadrado wriggled past his man with the ball and offloaded it to Dybala, who was lurking on the edge of the six-yard box with Barcelona's defence dropped deep.
The Argentine didn't even bother to look up upon receiving the ball: instead immediately curling it around Ter Stegen with his left-foot and into the top corner of the goal. A fine finish, albeit made possible by some really poor defending.
11 mins: Messi isn't happy. He collects the ball on the edge of the area and looks to drift past Chiellini, but the Italian defender steps across him and hauls him down.
Messi to take the free-kick right on the very edge of the area, but he whips his side-foot shot well over the bar.
14 mins: Juventus have dropped off in intensity since the goal, giving Barcelona the opportunity to throw some bodies forward in search of an early equaliser.
Pique, Umtiti and Mathieu all take turns to shuffle the ball back and forth, before Iniesta bursts forward and looks to spring a team-mate into some space. He finds Neymar, who chips the ball into Suarez ... but his flick in the direction of Roberto is far too heavy and the ball goes out for a throw.
