Barcelona host Liverpool in the teams' Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday evening.

In the quarter-finals, Jurgen Klopp’s side eased past Porto 6-1 on aggregate, while Barcelona unceremoniously dumped Manchester United out of the competition with a 4-0 win over two legs.

Both teams enter the tie in fine form, as Barca were crowned La Liga champions on Saturday for the fourth time in five years, while Liverpool stayed one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race with a 5-0 rout against Huddersfield.

At the Nou Camp, Klopp’s Liverpool will be aiming to extend their 19 game unbeaten streak, and the German manager will need his defence to be at their best if they are to succeed. Meanwhile Ernesto Valverde’s players continue to chase a historic treble, with former Liverpool players Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho likely to lead the line.

But would the pair make it into a combined Barcelona-Liverpool XI? Which team possesses the stronger midfield players and which manager would see more of their defenders in a joint line-up? There are difficult choices to make all over the pitch.
