From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

4 mins: Both Muenier and Maxwell are eager to get forward, leaving two at the back at times for PSG. It's Krychowiak who is looking to shield them, allowing Verratti and Motta to push forward.
6 mins: Koscielny looks to shield the ball back to Ospina, but with Cavani racing onto him he has to rush the pass. Ospina dallies and the Uruguay international tries to take the ball off him, though he just gets it away in the nick of time.
8 mins: Both Ramsey and Jenkinson put in firm but fair tackles to keep possession for the home side, but PSG are very organised when they lose the ball and will prove a tough nut to crack down. Iwobi gets a chance to run at the from the left, but he's isolated and Meunier is able to track back and dispossess him outside the are.
10 mins: PSG have half a chance to break but despite Cavani's neat lofted ball for Maxwell to run on to, Sanchez is over quickly to block his progress and force the ball back. When they have the ball, PSG look more like a 4-1-4-1, and they're getting numbers forward as a result.
12 mins: Sanchez tries to link up with Ozil for the first time, and if I'm honest I think it's the fastest I've seen the German move. He sprints in behind the back four but there's too much on the ball and Areola is out to collect.
13 mins: Moura managed to get down the right flank and crosses into the box, but Ospina takes it well. Arsenal break immediately and the ball is spread from right to left and to the feet of Iwobi. He cuts inside onto his right foot, but despite the fans urging him twice to unleash a shot from the edge of the area, he chooses not to and runs into traffic. First signs of frustration from the home fans, that didn't take long.
15 mins: The first danger signs from Arsenal and it's after a lapse in concentration from Coquelin. Koscielny blocks a cross to concede a corner, and Cavani catches Coquelin napping to run beyond the front post and flick the ball on. It's then ricochets off Coquelin and heads towards goal, with Gibbs clearing it off the line to prevent Arsenal going a goal behind.
18 mins: Well that wasn't in the script for Arsenal. They're caught napping at the back again and it allows Matuidi to get in down the left. He has the chance to shoot, but instead plays a low cross to the back post for Edinson Cavani to tap the ball in from about two yards out. 0-1
