Follow live coverage as Brentford face Leicester City today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

A Faes foul on Lewis-Potter just outside Leicester City’s penalty area gives Brentford the chance to double their advantage within 120 seconds, but Damsgaard can’t keep his free-kick down, sending his effort above both the wall and the crossbar.

LOVELY FOOTBALL MAKES IT 2-1 BRENTFORD! The hosts turn defence into attack rapidly through Lewis-Potter, who gets 25 yards from goal before slipping a square pass to Wissa. The forward helps the ball on to the right side for Mbeumo, whose low cross back towards the penalty spot is lept upon by Schade. Looking to score with his first touch, the striker winds up and connects well, sending a skipping shot past the goalkeeper at the near post to complete the comeback!

Mbeumo takes Brentford’s fourth corner in 20 minutes towards the back post but he puts too much on his delivery, with the ball sailing high over the heads of Pinnock and Lewis-Potter before going behind for a goal-kick.

Jensen hits a long, searching ball from deep in midfield that allows Damsgaard to latch onto it ahead of Faes inside the penalty area, but the forward is unable to shake his marker, with the centre-back able to put a crucial block in on the cross.

Jensen’s long throw into Leicester City’s penalty area from the right finds Damsgaard, who hits a vicious shot towards goal that’s blocked unwittingly by Pinnock - who had his back to the ball. The deflection trickles out to Norgaard, who hits it first-time from 15 yards out, but he fails to hit the target disappointingly.
