The body of the victim, named in reports as Ricardo Marques Ferreira, was discovered in a room at a business hotel in Albisrieden, Zurich.
Portugal’s leading daily newspaper Correio da Manha described him as the Juventus player’s “former hairdresser”.
An image posted on Mr Ferreira’s Facebook page in September 2015 appears to show him styling the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star’s hair for a photo shoot.
The dead man was found with stab wounds by a cleaner at about 2pm on Friday, according to Correio da Manha.
Local media reports claim a number of guests had contacted the hotel’s desk to complain about noise coming from the room prior to the discovery.
