PS5 Pro pre-orders – live: PS Direct has sold out, but when could the console restock?
Both the PS5 Pro and limited-edition consoles were available to pre-order this morning, we’re tracking stock live
After years of frenzied rumours, Sony is finally about to launch the PS5 Pro, a high-spec gaming behemoth that’s set to blow every games console out of the water. Pre-orders for the console went live exclusively at PlayStation Direct this morning, and we’ve already seen Oasis levels of mayhem.
Sony hasn’t merely launched a new PS5 Pro, but also a limited-edition PS5 Pro 30th anniversary edition bundle, with the console and accessories kitted out in that legendary greyscale colourway of the OG PlayStation 1. The gaming giant has also dropped a new PS5 Slim and PlayStation Portal in the same grey colour palette.
The tech firm says it only manufactured 12,300 PS5 Pro consoles in the grey colourway, each etched with a limited-edition number, meaning only a very lucky few were able to get their hands on one. Live now, we’re tracking PS5 Pro stock in real-time to help you cop one.

A recap of today’s events
Here’s a recap of today’s events
10am
The regular PS5 Pro and 30th anniversary edition PS5 Pro opened for pre-orders at 10am BST. The 30th anniversary edition bundle sold out within minutes and is now being re-sold on eBay for as much as 10 times the original price.
1pm
By 1pm, the regular PS5 Pro had sold out. The only new launch still available to pre-order at the time of writing is the 30th anniversary edition PlayStation Portal (£209.99, Playstation.com).
4pm
At around 4pm, EE went live with the 30th anniversary edition of the DualSense wireless controller (£69.99, Ee.co.uk), but it sold out within 5 minutes.
5:15pm
Third-party retailers will start listing the PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim 30th anniversary edition console on 10 October, but we’re also hoping PlayStation Direct will drop a second batch of consoles sometime next week. We’ll continue to track PS5 Pro stock on this page, so keep checking back.
Where to buy the PS5 vertical stand in the UK
PS5 vertical stand: £24.99, Very.co.uk
Another pretty critical, in-demand accessory is the PS5 vertical stand, which will help to keep your PS5 Pro or your PS5 Slim stable, and also helps with cooling and temperature regulation. The only retailers with it in stock are Very, Currys and Argos (in specific locations only).
Where to buy the PS5 disc drive
PS5 Pro disc drive: £99.99, Very.co.uk
Managed to secure a PS5 Pro pre-order today? After Sony got rid of the disc drive, you’re going to need to pair it with an external one if you. want to play any physical games. Unfortunately, the PS5 disc drive is also in short supply. There are only two retailers with the disc drive in stock – Very and Currys. You also need the disc drive if you’ve bought a PS5 Slim digital edition console and want to play physical games.
When could the PS5 Pro restock?
PlayStation Direct went live with both the PS5 Pro 30th anniversary edition console and the regular PS5 Pro this morning at 10am BST, but by 1pm, the retailer had completely sold out of stock. The 30th anniversary edition sold out within minutes, while the regular PS5 Pro stuck around for three hours before selling out.
So when could it restock? We’re hoping that Sony will have another batch of PS5 Pro consoles ready to drop next week (most likely on Thursday), before third-party retailers such as Amazon, Very, and Currys join in on the fun on 10 October. The console is slated to launch on 7 November, so you’ll have plenty of time to try and nab a pre-order before then.
Sony is unlikely to release anymore PS5 Pro 30th anniversary edition consoles, but we know that third-party retailers will be going live with the PS5 Slim 30th anniversary edition console on 10 October.
The PS5 Pro has now sold out at PlayStation Direct

PS5 Slim digital edition 30th anniversary edition restock details
While PlayStation Direct isn’t likely to be restocking any of the 30th anniversary edition items, including the limited-edition PS5 Pro console, Sony has announced that the PS5 Slim digital edition with the 30th anniversary edition makeover will be coming to third-party retailers in the UK.
The gaming giant has announced that you will be able to pre-order the 30th anniversary edition PS5 Slim from third-party retailers starting 10 October. So earmark that date for your next chance to bag a greyscale PS5 Slim.
Third-party retailers will also be selling the (out of stock) 30th anniversary edition DualSense controller. They are allowed to sell them any time from now, but the only listing we’ve seen online is from Amazon, where it’s currently out of stock.
