Courteney Cox has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at what went into recreating an iconic Friends moment.

The scene in question – which features in season five of the hit comedy – sees Cox’s character Monica dancing with a turkey over her head.

To celebrate Thanksgiving last month, the actor shared a video of herself recreating the iconic scene using a real, raw bird.

Yesterday (7 December), the Cougar Town star shared another clip to Instagram revealing how she managed to recreate the show’s memorable moment.

The video – captioned “the (gross) truth!” – shows Cox with her head wrapped in cling-film attempting to position the turkey on her head. The actor can be heard saying: “It’s really f***ing gross.”

Struggling to get the bird to stay upright, she reiterates the same sentiment, exclaiming: “It’s so disgusting.”

The ordeal appeared to be painful as well, with the 56-year-old stating: “That hurts like a motherf***er,” after asking an onlooker for a towel to position between her head and the heavy bird.

Fans were delighted at the hilarious video, with many social media users and celebrities commenting their praise for the actor and her efforts.

Co-star Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe on the series, commended Cox, writing: “What did you DO?! You are TOUGH AND GENEROUS.”

“COURT!! This is so damn funny!” wrote Queer Eye’s Tan France. Reality TV regular Vicky Pattinson applauded Cox for her “dedication”.

Julianne Moore complimented the actor on both her comedic skills and kitchen tiling, writing: “Ok u r super funny but I just saw your floor and I love it.”

An unscripted Friends reunion, which will see the cast sit down and discuss their memories of the show for the first time since 2004, will finally shoot in 2021, Matthew Perry confirmed this month (12 November).

The special, for US streaming service HBO Max, was originally supposed to be made earlier this year, however, production has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.
