Adam Sandler's Netflix takeover has continued well into 2020 – and is showing no signs of slowing.

The actor has oe of the most lucrative deals with the streaming service after signing a second four-year contract in 2017 following the success of films, including The Ridiculous 6.

Other films released as part of the deal, including Sandy Wexler and Murder Mystery, might have been torn apart by critics, but Netflix viewers watched them in their millions.

After the news that Sandler's most recent Netflix film, Hubie Halloween, has become the most-watched film on the streamer in the US, it has given an insight into just how loved the actor is by subscribers.

According to Netflix (via JoBlo), users have spent more than two billion hours watching films starring Sandler, including his acclaimed standup special 100% Fresh.

This jump to Netflix has proved a savvy career move for Sandler, who will no doubt score another contract with Netflix when the current one is up in 2021.

Earlier this year, Sandler was tipped to receive an Oscar nomination for his role in Uncut Gems, which was released on Netflix in the UK.

He will return to the drama genre for a role in Spaceman of Bohemia, an adaptation of Jaroslav Kalfař's 2017 novel following an astronaut sent on a solo mission to space.
