Dr Ben Kolosz
Assistant Professor in Renewable Energy and Carbon Removal, University of Hull

Dr Ben Kolosz is an Assistant Professor in Renewable Energy and Carbon Removal and the Graduate Programme Director of Renewable Energy at the Energy and Environment Institute, University of Hull. He is a member of the Energy Institute and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

He holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Leeds and has held prestigious research appointments in the United Kingdom and the United States. Dr Kolosz is a former member of the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy, University of Pennsylvania (USA).

His work seeks to understand the dynamics and quantification of environmental emissions and the energy needs of technological systems. His research also seeks to understand the impact of new technologies and their infrastructure and to develop practical modelling strategies for avoiding negative impacts and the societal consequences of using such technologies on local and global communities.
